Publishing was tough
For a wide range of personal reasons, the process to publish was a struggle both physically and emotionally.
The process started with an outline for a novel that Scott created while in college. He revisited that outline in his late 20s and decided to set a goal: to write a novel by age 30. It was a process. Months of research, a year to write a 400 page draft, and another year to edit.
Eventually, he wrote a prequel to the initial novel, called
Seven Questions, and published it.
Over the next several years he wrote about a wide range of topics and
published 5 other books.
